One hawk scatters many crows. That was the motto the Czechoslovak fighter pilots chose in May 1941 — and then lived up to. Over the English Channel, over occupied France, over the beaches of Normandy. No. 313 Squadron was the last of the four Czechoslovak squadrons formed within the RAF, and it earned the callsign "Butcher." Its role was top cover — first to engage the enemy. Only the best units drew that assignment.
This wooden emblem of No. 313 Squadron is milled from solid wood on a CNC machine with hundredth-of-a-millimetre precision. The hawk motif rises from the surface in full three-dimensional detail — every feather, every contour, exactly as the pilots wore it on their Spitfires. After milling comes the craftsman's hand: multi-grade sanding, stain or paint application, and a final coat of hard wax oil. Choose from several wood species, natural, stained, or hand-painted finishes, and a matte, semi-gloss, or gloss surface. All coatings are naturally based and non-toxic.
Pick your size, wood, and finish. Every piece leaves our workshop as a one-of-a-kind original — crafted with the same respect this story deserves.
